Grimal Grove’s organic breadfruit is debuting in the form of handcrafted Mutiny Island Vodka. The limited-edition, small-batch vodka, made from fruit sourced from the Big Pine Key farm and botanical garden, is currently the only spirit distilled from Florida Keys agricultural products.

"The summer season proved to be very fruitful at Grimal Grove, with an overabundance of breadfruit to harvest,” says Patrick Garvey of Grimal Grove. "When the breadfruit trees start bearing fruit, there's no stopping them! We get so much, we don't even know what to do with them.”

In partnership, Mutiny Island Vodka and Grimal Grove produced 200 bottles of the reserve and will be available February 2023 in select Key West stores, including Conch Town Liquors, Summerland Wine and Spirits and Tipsy Rooster. In Florida, Mutiny Island Vodka is distributed by Breakthru Beverage.

"This is so inspiring to see happen. It truly demonstrates how we can enjoy a better cocktail and a better planet," says Todd Manley, co-founder of Mutiny Island Vodka. "I cannot wait to see breadfruit agriculture expand throughout Florida to create food security, and improve the economy through agriculture, all while benefiting the environment."

There’s a launch party at Grimal Grove Feb. 5 from 2-5pm featuring live music with Jerico Rockabilly Quartet. There’s a $10 entry fee.
