Banana Catchup: Filipino Block Party Oct. 19

Miami's first and only Asian food hall, 1-800-Lucky, is thrilled to announce the second annual Banana Catchup: Filipino Block Party, hosted by Nicole Ponseca of Jeepney, Darren Mendoza of Lutong Pinoy Filipino Cuisine, and Cheryl Tiu of Cross Cultures, in partnership with the Filipino Food Movement and ACE NextGen Miami. This celebration continues to honor and support Filipino heritage, culture, and cuisine through a lively block party featuring local Filipino chefs and vendors, collaborations with local chefs, live entertainment, and more.The name Banana Catchup is a playful nod to the beloved Filipino condiment, banana ketchup, a sweet and tangy sauce made from bananas that is a staple in Filipino households. Entertainment at 1-800-Lucky's Banana Catchup event will feature a lively set by Filipino DJ Kuya Trey alongside performances by the Philippine-American Society Dance Troupe and international performing artist Omilani. The event will also showcase the talents of Matea Smith, Miss Filipina International 2023 and Miss Universe Philippines Florida 2024, and Mary Yasol, Miss Universe Philippines Miami 2024.
