A funky downtown Vietnamese restaurant, a hyper-local Miami Shores dinner spot in what's a cafe by day, and Japanese omakase stands were among Miami restaurants recognized in the 2024 Florida MICHELIN Guide.

L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon maintained its standing as Florida's first and only two Michelin Star restaurant, while Miami newcomers EntreNos, Shingo and Ogawa were awarded one star in the guide.

Miami’s Tam Pham of Tam Tam Miami, the colorful Vietnamese restaurant across from the Dade County Courthouse, was honored with the Young Chef Award. Tam Tam was also awarded a new Bib Gourmand designation, given to restaurants that offer diners good value – specifically, where diners can have two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for about $50.

Repeat Bib Gourmands are Bachour, Chug’s Diner, DOYA, El Turco, Ghee Indian Kitchen, Hometown Barbecue Miami, Jaguar Sun, La Natural, Lucali, Mandolin Aegean Bistro, Michael’s Genuine, Phuc Yea, Rosie’s, Sanguich de Miami, Tinta y Café, Zak the Baker and Zitz Sum.

One-Star Recipients

Miami Shores’ EntreNos, Ogawa in Little River and Shingo in Coral Gables were awarded one Michelin star. Inspectors noted that chefs Evan Burgess and Osmel Gonzalez’ a la carte menu “puts the spotlight on Florida’s seasons,” calling out their smoked dry-aged cobia and pumpkin flan. Ogawa’s omakase by chef/co-owner Masayuki Komatsu “stuns with a series of cooked dishes and a procession of focused and skillful nigiri.” At Shingo, under chef Shingo Akikuni at his 14-set counter in Coral Gables, “chef Akikuni and his second-in-command handle the crowd without breaking a sweat.”

Previous one-star restaurants that maintained their status were Ariete, Boia De, Cote Miami, Elcielo Miami, Hiden, Le Jardinier Miami, Los Felix, Stubborn Seed, The Surf Club Restaurant and Tambourine Room by Tristan Brandt.

Los Felix and Krüs Kitchen in Coconut Grove were honored with a Green Star for sustainable practices. The guide cited their restaurants’ practices of sourcing local fish, using grass-fed and grass-finished meats, lamb and heritage pork, and partnering with local producers. “Food feeds our soul,” said chef and partner Sebastian Vargas in accepting the award. “Treat yourselves well.”

Gabriela Ospina of Boia De was awarded the Michelin Sommelier Award.

The 2024 selection of the MICHELIN Guide Miami, Orlando and Tampa was announced Thursday night at the Tampa EDITION hotel.
