Burger Beast Sauces

The offerings: Guava Sriracha Ketchup and Honey Mustard Curry ($8 each)
The story: Comfort food connoisseur Sef Gonzalez first created Guava Sriracha Ketchup as a topping for his Burger Beast burger at Cuban Guys restaurants, then started bottling it to sell. It’s sweet, aromatic, and not too spicy. “For those of you who are afraid of a little heat in their sauces, I got you,” says Gonzalez.

Taquiza Hot Sauces

The offering: Red Pepper Hot Sauce and Charred Jalapeno ($15 each)
The story: A shipping error led chef Steve Santana to develop their red pepper hot sauce. “We got a box of cherry peppers shipped to us at Taquiza by mistake. To me, they looked like Christmas ornaments,” he says. He charred the stems with a torch, blended them and came up with a recipe. Santana balances the flavors with sugar and vinegar so the flavor is not overpoweringly hot. “We adjust and taste until it has the nice balance of flavor we want,” he says.

Men P’aw Hot Sauces

The offerings: Six sauces – Umami, Spicy Mustard, Hot Red Sauce, Hot Green Sauce, La Bomba and Hot Ketchup. The most popular is the reserve special and green pepper madness ($8.99 per bottle and also sold in several set sizes).
