Ag/Farm Bus Tour

The 53rd annual Ag/Farm tour, leaves from the Miami-Dade County Extension Office (18710 SW 288 St., Homestead) Fri., Feb. 19. Visitors check in at 8am for the bus tour, stop for a luncheon honoring local agricultural pioneers, then return for more stops. The tour returns to the Extension office at 3:30pm. Price is $55. Annual USDA Chapman Field Community Day

One day a year, the public is invited to the USDA-ARS Subtropical Horticulture Research Station – locally known as Chapman Field – for a free event. This year's event is Sat., Feb. 20 from 10am-3pm, focuses on Planes, Plants, Pests and People, showcasing the contributions made by scientists at the facility. Visitors can take trolley tours of the 200-acre experimental groves and plant collections. There will also be plant sales, food vendors, demonstrations and educational displays, plus a mystery plant or seed distribution. 13601 Old Cutler Rd., Miami.
