For those of us in South Florida, #HurricaneMatthew was a minor inconvenience compared to what happened in Haiti. Folks have been asking how to help. Generally speaking, canned food products and diapers, dry foods like rice and beans and first-aid supplies are needed, not clothing. You can also donate money online that goes to Haitian relief.
• Tomorrow at Pérez Art Museum Miami, 1-4, bring canned milk, meat and fish for distribution via Food For The Poor Inc.
• You can also drop off canned food and diapers to City of Miami fire stations. They're looking for dry foods, rice and beans, diapers, baby food and first aid supplies at fire stations and will be collecting Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m
• In Broward, follow Food For The Poor Inc. for donation and drop-off information.

• The Greater Miami Jewish Federation has established an Emergency Relief Fund to assist those affected by Hurricane Matthew in Haiti and other communities. Click here to help.

• Catholic Relief Services is collecting money to buy supplies for southern Haiti here.

We'll continue to post places where you can donate food and supplies.
