Summer fruits at Redland Fruit and Spice Park

As South Florida's summer fruit season reaches its delicious crescendo, it's time to make our bounty last year round. Learn about making preserves, liqueurs and other treats from local fruits, spices and herbs and take a tour of the incomparable Fruit and Spice Park led by horticulturist Louise King and other growers this Saturday, July 14 from 10am-noon.

Part of a new series HistoryMiami Museum started this year called Cultural Encounters, this is an outreach events with a folklife focus, says HistoryMiami's Vanessa Maza. "This summer we’re partnering up with Fruit & Spice for this program and we’re also doing a cigar rolling program in August at Havana Classic Cigars," she says.

The event costs $10 for HistoryMiami members and $20 for non-members. Tickets here
