Greater Fort Lauderdale has food festival fever! The first-ever Greater Fort Lauderdale Food and Wine Festival launches Mar. 20-24, showcasing local restaurants, craft spirit brands, wineries and breweries at a series of events.

Event founder Kate Reed says they wanted to highlight Broward’s renowned and emerging chefs and restaurateurs to show there’s more than just beautiful beaches. “We are excited to have so many local businesses involved in our inaugural event.”

Host chef for the festival is Angelo Elia, an award-winning chef whose restaurants include the flagship Casa D’Angelo, Angelo Pizza Tapas & Wine Bar, and Angelo The Bakery Bar. Elia will do a cooking demo at the Grand Tasting.

The festival includes different themed events:
Cocktail Confidential, A Spirited Affair
Wed., Mar. 20, 7-9pm at the Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach Atlas Cocktail Lounge
Signature cocktails and bites with lead mixologist Danwel Olivo.

GFL on the Rise: An Elevated Culinary Experience
Fri., Mar. 22, 6-9pm at the Atlantic Hotel and Spa, Ocean View Terrace
Enjoy bites and sips from The Wandering Wines at sunset on the 5th floor pool deck overlooking the ocean.

Grand Tasting
Sat., Mar. 23 from 1-5pm at ArtsPark Hollywood
Unlimited food and drink sampling, live cooking demos, music and art installations, tasting glass and gift bag. There’s also a VIP option. Restaurant partners includes Casa D’Angelo, Café Maxx, Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurants, Lobster Bar Sea Grille, Olivia Restaurant and Bar and The Capital Grille.

Family Day and Food Drive
Sun., Mar 24, noon-5 at ArtsPark Hollywood
Free event features food trucks, live music, children’s activities and kids’ cooking competition. Please bring canned goods to donate to Feeding South Florida.

Prices for events range from $60 to $184 for a VIP package. Family Day is free, with suggested donation of canned foods. Buy tickets here.
