In only a few short years, SEED Food & Wine Week has evolved from a home-grown celebration of plant-based food and drink to one of 2018’s top five best wine and food festivals in the country, according to USA TODAY. In 2018, founders Alison Burgos and Michelle Gaber expanded their vision by offering a Plant-Based Restaurant Week in Oct., with more than 25 participating restaurants from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties offering prix-fixe meals to whet appetites for the main event.

“We wanted to highlight all the local plant-based dining options while bringing attention to the upcoming SEED Food and Wine Week Festival from Nov. 7-11,” says Burgos.

This year’s event takes sustainability seriously. “SEED will have zero carbon footprint with the use of solar energy, composting, food recovery, bike share programs, Smart Cars and carpools to transport talent, no plastic straws, and a TerraPass account, which provides carbon-offsetting products to individuals, businesses and events,” she says.
