South Florida is home to plenty of great long-running festivals, but one of the best is turning just three this year. The Seed Food and Wine Festival, founded by Alison Burgos and Michelle Gaber, has grown into a year-round movement embracing plant-based foods, sustainability, conscious living and animal welfare. It comes together Nov. 2-6, with a series of food and drink events, talks with thought leaders and a one-day festival that – once again – will be the talk of the town. Here are some highlights:
SEED SUMMIT (Nov. 3-4)  Two days of workshops, panels and networking for influencers, entrepreneurs and others involved in conscious, sustainable and vegan living. Panelists include authors Rip Esselstyn, Ellen Kanner, Marco Borges, plant-based advocate and NBA champion John Salley, vegan personal chef to the stars Mary Mattern, among others. This happens at the Nobu Hotel at Eden Roc.

PLANT-BASED BURGER BATTLE (Nov. 3)  Don’t miss this! Local participants include Atlas Meat-Free Deli (our summer 2016 artisans), Green Gables Cafe (also featured in these pages). Choices Cafe, JugoFresh Kitchen and Holi Kitchen in Aventura. Craft beers and live music make this a popular choice.
FOOD FORWARD (Nov. 4)  Six workshops tackle topics in food and sustainability, including food waste, regenerative agriculture, GMOs and organics, sustainability, feeding good food to all and building authentic brands and companies.
SEED 5K RUN, YOGA, MEDITATION (Nov. 5)  Celebrity athletes including Rich Roll, Ella Magers and John Lewis will lead runners through Miami streets starting in Wynwood.

TASTING VILLAGE (Nov. 5)  This was one of the hottest tickets of the season. More than 200 restaurants, bakeries, brands, wines, spirits and juices provide samples; there’s a yoga lounge, crafts, a beer garden, demos, speakers and chefs, and so much more.
SPROUTS KIDS DAY (Nov. 6)  Yoga, cupcake lab, gardening and activities are on the agenda at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden.
