In the male-dominated restaurant ownership, there is an oasis of female entrepreneurship. Within a half-mile or so, in Miami’s MiMo District, are five women-owned restaurants, says Ani Meinhold, who, with Cesar Zapata, owns Phuc Yea and the new Madame Phuong lounge. There’s Loba (Jessica Sanchez), BarMeli (Liza Meli), Mina Mediterranean (Yasmine Kotb), Ms. Cheezious (Fatima Mullins), and the Vagabond (Avra Jain, who also develops multiple properties in South Florida).
