In Coconut Grove

Join us for our annual collaboration with the swell folks at the O, Miami Poetry Festival and The Kampong in Coconut Grove! This year, it's the finale of the ZIP Odes contest on WLRN where poets write odes to their zip code, number of words determined by the digits in the ZIP code. You can hear many of the entries and experience more unexpected poetic delights Tue., April 26, 7–8:30 pm. Get tickets here.

• Poetry Sandwich, featuring bread from Zak the Baker: "This idea came as a proposal from 16-year-old Joel Linkewer, who wanted to make poetry sandwiches," says O, Miami's Melody Santiago Cummings. He envisioned branding bread with selected excerpts, creating a tasty own poetic impression. Thier Peraza and Jose E. Peris devised a special panini press with words from Emily Dickinson and local poet Nick Vagnoni. Leslie Stern, mother of Zak the Baker, got word of the project and will be there with Zak's rustic bread. Local honey sweetens the delicious deal.
