Summer squashes – zucchini, yellow squash, pattypan and crookneck – all have thin, edible skins, but they actually grow in South Florida in fall, winter and spring. Winter squashes have hard rinds and include butternut, pumpkin and calabaza and spaghetti.


Plant-strong diets are good for your heart! A recent study shows that people who eat a plant-based diet most of the time had a 42% decreased risk of developing heart failure over the four years of the study, according to the American Heart Association.
