Where to sign up for regular deliveries of fresh, local fruits and veggies in South Florida

In South Florida, summer is typically the season to sign up for CSAs – Community Supported Agriculture – though some models let you sign up when you want. Basically, you agree to pay upfront for produce grown on local farms. When it’s time to harvest, you’ll get weekly boxes filled with fresh fruits and vegetables at their prime throughout the season.

Look for flexible subscriptions (full-season shares, monthly or weekly), salad shares only (various vendors), and more opportunities to help others get fresh, healthy produce (Urban Oasis Project, among others).

Why Join a CSA?

   •    You’re helping keep local farms in business
    •    Every week or two, you’ll receive fresh fruits and vegetables harvested here, not shipped from thousands of miles away
    •    You’ll discover new fruits and vegetables, unusual spices and greens not found in supermarkets
    •    Many CSAs offer add-ons – honey, eggs, dried fruits and other products
    •    You’ll get to know the farmer through the food they grow for you

The following farms and companies offer CSAs or ways to order fresh, local produce, eggs and meat in South Florida. Please note that smaller CSAs fill up quickly, so don’t delay.
