Biscayne Bay Brewing Opens in Historic Old Post Office Building

Downtown Miami gets its first brewery and taproom with the opening of Biscayne Bay Brewing opens in the old U.S. Post Office and Courthouse at 100 NE 1st Ave.

Locally owned independent brewery Biscayne Bay Brewing, slated to open July 19, features a wrap-around bar, a pool table, Fussball, 12 beers on tap and special events.

Four years ago, owners Jose Mallea and Nick Bonfiglio signed a lease in the three-story, Neo-Classical building, built in 1912-14 as the first major federal facility constructed in Miami. The Old U.S. Post Office and Courthouse was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Founded in 2012, Biscayne Bay Brewing produces Tropical Bay IPA, The Miami Pale Ale, Regatta Double IPA, Colada Porter, The Marlins Lager, and a rotating lineup of seasonal and guest beers. The new taproom will serve savory bites, including a charcuterie board, Mediterranean dips, Wagyu picanha crostini, four cheese flatbread; Colorado Wagyu Burger, Bao Buns, and G1 Angus Ribeye.

The brewery and taproom are open from 5 pm to midnight Wednesday through Saturday and on Sundays from 5pm to 11 pm. Happy Hour is available daily from 5pm to 7pm. For more info, visit Biscayne Bay Brewing Company.
