Sideways Pinot Noir from Chile Debuts

Sideways Pinot Noir
Sideways Pinot Noir

Chilean wines, among the many food products exported here by the South American country, will get the Hollywood treatment soon. Rex Pickett, author of the novel Sideways, from which the cult-wine movie was adapted, has announced his Sideways Pinot Noir, “a wine that I believe in with all my heart and soul,” he says. “After many fits and starts I have finally found a Pinot I’m proud to put my name on.”

In search of a wine that was expressive of the grape and affordable, Pickett met Carlos Kuscevic of Via Wines, tasted their wines out of Casablanca Valley and launched the partnership. This famous valley located southwest of Santiago is one of the primary wine regions in Chile, recognized for the maritime influence of the Pacific and the old granite clay soils that create a rich tapestry of terroirs.

Sideways Pinot Noir will arrive in the South Florida market in early 2020. Their Chilensis line is found at Happy Wine Calle Ocho and Anacapri Italian Market at 12665 S. Dixie Highway.
