Dream Kasestatad’s Thai food pop-up, Pranom, sets up shop at Union Beer Shop in Little Havana, Tues., Aug. 1 and Thurs., Aug. 3. Coming from four generations of family-owned Thai restaurants, the Austin, Texas-based chef is finishing up his East Coast tour, which started in Portland, Maine, and worked its way down the coast with stops at Pawtucket, Washington, D.C., Virginia Beach, Charleston, Savannah and Orlando, among others.

Kasestatad began his cooking concept 12 years ago making pad thai in his Los Angeles apartment and delivering it by bicycle to friends, neighborhood bars and small businesses. He decided to take his show on the road nationally as a way to see the country, taking over hotels, breweries, bars and restaurants. His menu changes depending on what he finds in the market.

“Get a drink, have an open mind, make some friends,” Kasestatad says. He hopes to return to South Florida in late fall. Follow him on Instagram.
