When the weather heats up, so do the restaurant promotions in South Florida! And the first of the season, Coral Gables Restaurant Week – part of the city’s first Culinary Month – is underway.

Actually three weeks of dining bargains from June 4-24, the 11th annual promotion is extra-special this year now that Miracle Mile’s pedestrian-friendly streetscape project is complete. The Gables’ restaurant row, Giralda Plaza is closed to vehicles, making this one-block concentration of restaurants, cafes and bars the ideal spot for strolling and al fresco dining.

“Our first ever Culinary Month will engage foodies and wine-lovers alike, highlighting Downtown Coral Gables as one of Miami’s greatest culinary destinations,” says Taciana Amador, executive director of the Coral Gables BID. Experiences include an intimate, table-side Chef’s Dinner experience June 13 at La Taberna Giralda; a lively Wine Walk June 18; a panel June 7 about Miami’s restaurant scene featuring Sam Gorenstein of My Ceviche, Otto Othman of Pincho Factory, and Abe Ng of Sushi Maki and a Venetian Farm-to-Table dinner June 19 by the renowned Chef Allen Susser of the Café at Books & Books.

Participating restaurants will serve three-course, prix fixe menus at discounted prices for lunch and dinner:
