Miami Restaurants Sparkle with Inaugural MICHELIN stars
Eleven local restaurants were honored with Michelin stars – including one two-star recipient – in the first selection of the guide in Florida. L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon of the Bastion Collection in the Design District received two stars for its French cuisine. One-star winners are:
• Ariete, chef Michael Beltran’s Coconut Grove restaurant
• Boia De, Little Haiti, eclectic dishes from chefs Luciana Giangrandi and Alex Meyer
• Cote Miami, a Korean steakhouse from Simon Kim
• The Den at Sushi Azabu in the Stanton South Beach, an intimate sushi bar
• Elcielo Miami, Colombian cuisine from chef Juan Manuel Barrientos
• Hiden, Wynwood, Japanese frood from chef Shingo Akikuni
• Le Jardinier Miami, of the Bastion Collection, Design District, featuring French cuisine
• Los Félix, Coconut Grove, inventive Mexican food
• Stubborn Seed, South Beach, contemporary cuisine from chef Jeremy Ford
• The Surf Club, Surfside, Thomas Keller’s American at The Four Seasons
Nineteen restaurants were designated Bib Gourmand, which recognizes great food at a great value, restaurants where diners can have two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for under $49:

The Guide announced two special awards: Sommelier of the Year, awarded to Victoria James and her team at Cote Miami; and Exceptional Cocktails, awarded to Ruben Rolon and his teams at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon Miami and Le Jardinier Miami.
Orlando and Tampa were also included in the inaugural awards. "This very first selection of the MICHELIN Guide in Florida highlights glittery Miami, storied Orlando and breathtaking Tampa, offering a unique blend of international cuisine and Florida flavors,” says Gwendal Poullennec, international director of the MICHELIN Guides. “Local foodies as well as travelers will enjoy exploring these mesmerizing and rich Florida culinary destinations.”
