New Chefs at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach
Two new chefs have been named to the culinary staff at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach: Diogo Porto, originally from Portugal, is the new executive chef and Nitin Bali, from India, is the executive pastry chef.
Most recently from The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe, Porto says he favors seasonal ingredients and fresh herbs. “I’m excited to further elevate the impressive culinary offerings in Miami.”
Recognized for his inventive pastry creations and love of chocolatiering, Bali says his work is inspired by his love for nature. “I am looking forward to creating an innovative, multi-sensory pastry program that focuses on superb ingredients, seasonality and the rich, exotic flavors representative of South Beach,” he says. “Property wide, pastry will represent the spirit and luxury inherent to The Ritz-Carlton brand.”
The hotel is one of five Ritz-Carlton properties in South Florida, including Bal Harbour, Coconut Grove, Fort Lauderdale and Key Biscayne.
