Palm Beach-based BurgerFi acquires Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza & Wings
Fast-casual BurgerFi, with 177 locations across the country, is set to acquire Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza & Wings, the Fort Lauderdale-based pizza and wing brand. Founded in 2002, Anthony’s has grown to 61 locations nationwide.
The $161.3 million transaction in part of BurgerFi’s recent growth, which includes new brick-and-mortar restaurants, ghost kitchens, drive-throughs and a new food truck. BurgerFi uses 100% American Angus beef with no steroids, antibiotics, growth hormones, chemicals or additives. Their menu also includes high quality wagyu beef, antibiotic and cage-free chicken.
Anthony’s, which started as a single location in Fort Lauderdale, is known for its pizza and wings made in a 900-degree coal-fired oven.
