Little River Cooperative is hosting a series of six workshops at their nursery demonstration garden. This is aimed at people that are considering either starting a small farm business or a personal large-scale backyard garden. The focus of the curriculum is urban farming rather than large scale rural farming, so it's a good fit for people interested in living within the city, but with a desire to be more self sustainable. The workshops are very hands-on suitable for a wide range of experience levels. The workshops will be roughly three hours each, hosted at their nursery near Wynwood/Allapattah. Participants will have an opportunity to try a wide variety of farm tools, plant seeds and transplants as well as harvest and process crops with market quality. Participants also get a PDF syllabus to follow along with the workshops.
