City of Miami Pitmasters Competition & Festival
The barbecue competition is officially recognized by the Florida Barbecue Association and will host an exciting grill off event on April 20th at Maurice Ferre Park. This event will celebrate the art of barbecuing, featuring top pitmasters, food lovers, and community members for a day of delicious food and lively family entertainment. There will be a wide range of entertainment for the entire family! Listen to the best bands in latin, soul, and jazz like Deep Fried Funk, Dennis Reyes, Son QBA and Nicole Henry. Enjoy craft vendors, live cooking demonstrations with barbecue experts, kids fun zone and a People’s Choice VIP Food Tasting Experience to judge team submissions with drinks and light bites! Proceeds from the City of Miami PitMasters Competition and Festival will benefit the Venture Miami Scholarship Fund. In collaboration with the Miami Foundation, the Venture Miami Scholarship Fund will award City of Miami residents enrolled in STEM programs and provide gap in tuition funding to support residents that are pell grant recipients attending Florida International University, Miami-Dade College, Florida Memorial University and the University of Miami.
