Natural dyeing is a highly sensorial and fun activity to learn about textiles, the origins of color and fashion sustainability. In this two-hour workshop with Veronica Pesantes & Veronica Buitron, students will learn the basics of natural dyeing and explore Shibori, a textile printing technique that involves folding and binding cloth, then dyeing it with everyday resources like food scraps, avocado skins, spices and leaves.

Students will dye one tote bag or bandana plus a used garment of their own, discovering different ways to prolong the lifecycle of clothing and implement sustainability in their closets.
