Why We Love It: This group includes commercial growers, backyard gardeners and rare plant collectors who gather at Fruit and Spice Park, surrounded by tropical fruits year-round. They reach the public at events at Fruit and Spice and the annual USDA Open House at Chapman Field. At events, look for their Tropical Fruit Cup, a sampling of purees of fruits like black sapote, jaboticaba and sapodilla, plus a scoop of ice cream for only $3.
