Passionfruit

Passionfruit

Passionfruit (Passiflora edulis), also known as maracuya or parchita, grows as a vine with spectacular flowers and round fruits filled with pulp and seeds. Fruits can range from as small as golf balls to as large as grapefruits, and can be yellow, red or dark purple when ripe; the fragrant juice and edible seeds are used to make or flavor drinks, desserts, sauces and sorbets. Fruits are ripe when their skins are wrinkly and shriveled. They’re rich in vitamin A and potassium.
