
Tomato 
and Onion Salad
When local heirloom tomatoes are in season, here's a simple way to enjoy them.
Ingredients
- Ripe, round heirloom tomatoes (choose varieties that are more fleshy than juicy)
- Sweet onions
- Sea salt
- Extra-virgin olive oil (optional)
Instructions
- Peel the onion, cut off the root end, and slice paper-thin rounds. Do the same with tomatoes. Arrange on a plate and sprinkle with salt and drizzle with olive oil if you want.
Notes
This recipe requires nothing but good tomatoes, local sweet onions and a sharp knife. Serve with crusty bread.
