New ‘Source’ Launches Local Farm Boxes
Fruits and veggies freshly harvested from farms in the Redland and elsewhere in South Florida, artisan foods, eggs and pantry staples like lentils and oats are now available through Source Market and Table, a new farm box company in Coral Gables.
Launched by Jennie Kapoor and Joanna Davila, Source is selling subscriptions for regular shipments of seasonal produce from farms including Aloha Redland and Alderman Farms, organic fruits and gourmet mushrooms from Gratitude Garden Farm. They offer artisan foods as add-ons, including freshly baked sourdough from Caracas Bakery, Great Circle coffee. JoJo tea, Colony & Comb Honey and Ana Cacao chocolate bars.
Source also offers pantry staples like almond flour, brown rice, rolled oats, lentils and beans and organic eggs.
“With the Farm Boxes, we hope to give more locals a chance to taste the passion put into so much of the local offerings and really connect with their food sources in a beautiful way,” says Kapoor. Eventually, the team hopes to open a market and all-day restaurant in the space in downtown Coral Gables.
The boxes, available for $50 a week or six weeks for $250, contains locally grown seasonal vegetables to feed up to two people for a week. Orders placed before 6pm Wednesday are available for Friday delivery or curbside pickup in Coral Gables.
