From October 1-31, $1 from each pink-and-white frosted cookie sold will be donated to the American Cancer Society – Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. “We love giving back to the community that has embraced us with open arms for generations,” says John Alfano, president of Doris Italian Market & Bakery. “Cancer has touched each one of our lives in one way or another.” Over the last decade, Doris Italian Market & Bakery has raised more than $14,000 from cookie sales. The grocery chain has also participated in annual fundraising walks and raised money through their in-store Wine Nights.
