Vizcaya Village Farmers Market Debuts Mar. 15
Good news for residents of Brickell, downtown Miami, The Roads and anyone who wants to shop locally in a historic setting. The Vizcaya Village Farmers Market on the site of the historic farm and village launches Mar. 15 featuring fresh-made delicacies and hand-crafted goods for more than 30 vendors, including fruits and vegetables, baked goods, vegan products, and more.
After shopping, visitors can explore the rustic charm of Vizcaya Village, once the backbone of the estate when it served as James Deering's private home in the late 1910s. Built in 1916 to make Vizcaya self-sufficient, the Village included staff quarters, a garage and workshops, barns, and greenhouses and fields that supplied fresh flowers, fruits and vegetables. The Village hosted frequent farmers markets that welcomed the community in the early 1910s and 1920s.
