When Hurricane Dorian slammed into the Bahamas as a powerful and lingering category 5 storm, its winds and rains left thousands homeless and hungry. Relief efforts continue for our island neighbors, and many South Florida businesses are hosting fundraising events dedicated to helping those in need in the Bahamas. Here's a list of upcoming events in South Florida. We'll keep updating this list.
 

Steak Sandwich, Draft Beer and Ice Cream to Help the Bahamas

WHAT: The Blues Burgers, Bousa Beer, Dasher & Crank and Gaucho Ranch come together this Friday to raise funds for the Bahamas disaster. Enjoy a yummy grass fed steak sandwich prepared by chef Alex Lotero, a cold craft beer and an ice cream. 100% of proceeds will be donated to the Salvation Army – Caribbean Territory.

Relief Drive at Beat Culture Brewery, Doral

WHAT: All physical and monetary donations will be accepted. 10% off your kitchen and/or bar tab with direct donation of relief supplies. (No clothing please)

Key West Cares: Benefit for the Bahamas

WHAT: Silent auction and concert, featuring live performances by Joe Tripp, Rob Benton & Friends, Coffee Butler, Cliff Sawyer, Larry Smith, Larry Baeder, Robert Albury, Clayton Lopez, Mina Lopez-Martin and more.

New World Symphony Fellows Perform for Bahamian Relief

WHAT: Free performance of pop and light classical music in partnership with the National Association of the Bahamas (NAB). Musical ensembles of string, brass, and percussion players will present this two-hour marathon of music to assist NAB in collecting donations, and will be joined by staff from NAB and the Bahamas Tourism Office.

World Central Kitchen & Cafe Roval Hosts Bahamas Relief Event

WHAT: Hors d'oeuvres and cocktails to raise awareness and funds for World Central Kitchen, providing meals to those in need in the Bahamas. Sponsors include Plantation Rum, Beam Suntory, and Tito’s Vodka

Lift a Fork, Lend a Hand

WHAT: Some of South Florida's top restaurants are banding together to raise funds for Bahamian hurricane relief and recovery, thanks to the efforts of Alex Kuk of Temple Street Eatery. On Saturday, Sept. 21, participating restaurants will donate a portion of sales to World Central Kitchen, chef Jose Andres' organization dedicated to hunger relief: Phuc Yea, Timo, Macchialina, Fireman Derek's Bakeshop, Beaker & Gray, Temple Street Eatery, Burlock Coast at the Ritz-Carlton, 3030 Ocean at Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa.

Latin Urban Music Fest at the Citadel

Goombay Smash at Steelpan by Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beach

WHAT: Steelpan by Sonesta Fort Lauderdale Beach will be donating 50% off all proceeds from its sales of the “Goombay Smash” cocktail to the Grand Bahama Disaster Relief Foundation. The cocktail is $10.
