FIBEGA Miami 2019 makes its U.S. debut at the Miami Beach Convention Center May 10-12, showcasing a lineup of renowned speakers and exhibitors that include destinations, hoteliers, restaurateurs and producers. The three-day event highlights gastronomy tourism experiences around the world, drawing professionals and culinary travelers in search of the latest trends in gastronomy tourism.

Previously held in cities outside the U.S., the event is coming to stay in South Florida, says FIBEGA president Roi Correa. “Due to the city’s prestige as an international epicenter for tourism and gastronomy, we felt this was the ideal destination to have FIBEGA and all future editions of the fair will remain in the city,” he says. “American tourists are one of the top markets worldwide.”

The event is geared to both professionals and consumers. Professionals will have the opportunity to discover the gastronomy offering of destinations, regions, hoteliers, airlines and more, as well as participate in workshops to support business in this growing segment. FIBEGA Miami is the only international fair that offers exclusive gastronomy tourism products gathered in a single location. May 11 and 12 are open to ticket holders and industry professionals who can try authentic gastronomy offerings from exhibitors such as Macao, Valencia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Morocco, Colombia, Spain, Guatemala, Brazil and many others. Saturday will be dedicated to the congress “New Technologies in Gastronomy Tourism,” created with the support of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the Basque Culinary Center.

Consumers can travel the world under one roof and discover the gastronomy offerings of a multitude of destinations and regions, sampling gastronomical experiences that will guide them as they choose their next travel destination. They can also discover new culinary products from around the world, like Mexican escamoles (fried ant larvae), Spanish and Italian truffles, and Galician beef, to name just a few.

The event represents just the beginning of a movement, says Correa. “There is tremendous value in gastronomy tourism, and travelers are merely scratching the surface on discovering these experiences. We hope to change that with FIBEGA.”

Tickets to attend FIBEGA Miami 2019 start at $50 per day. Find them here.
