Greater Miami’s annual fundraiser for local nonprofits may surpass last year’s $39.5 million
The largest single-city giving event in the United States, Give Miami Day heads into its 14th year when the main event begins one minute past midnight on Thurs., Nov. 20. Early Giving starts Sat., Nov. 15 through Wed., Nov. 19. The main event begins one minute past midnight on Thurs., Nov. 20.
“Give Miami Day isn’t just a fundraiser for 1,000+ nonprofits serving Greater Miami,” says Rebecca Fishman Lipsey, president and CEO of The Miami Foundation, the host organization. “It’s the time when every single person in Miami steps forward for the causes they care about.”
Give Miami Day invites everyone to shape a better Miami through mass generosity. Donations start at just $25 and 100 percent of all donations go directly to nonprofits in categories that include food security, education, racial equity, housing, immigration, health and wellness, youth development, and more.
New this year is the Give Miami 5K and Festival on Sun., Nov. 16, at Maurice A. Ferré Park, where participants can run, walk, skip or dance for the cause of their choice, with 100 percent of registration fees benefiting the nonprofit or issue area of their choice.
Here are some of the causes that are dear to our hearts. Check online at Give Miami Day givemiamiday.org for the full list of nonprofits and support your favorites!
