Mango is the flavor of the weekend as South Florida celebrates Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month May 30-31 in Fort Lauderdale’s Flagler Village. Smorgasburg Fort Lauderdale and culinary consultant Cheryl Tiu’s Cross Cultures have teamed up for a lineup of food, live performances, activities, and mango-inspired culinary specials.
More than 45 food vendors will be on hand, including 15+ AAPI-owned concepts representing cuisines from across Asia and the Pacific Islands, featuring Burmese, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Filipino, Thai, Vietnamese and others.
Bring Your Mangos
A special Mango Exchange will take place all weekend long at the bar, where guests can bring mangos and exchange them for a complimentary drink while supplies last. Guests can also expect more than 40+ specialty mango dishes and drinks created exclusively for the event.
Throughout the weekend, guests can also enjoy curated music programming, family-friendly activities and cultural performances. Programming will include nightly Polynesian dance performances, Silent Karaoke on Saturday from 5pm–8pm, a Community Table gathering on Saturday from 4pm–7pm and Hong Kong-style mahjong hosted by 888Mahjong on Sunday.
