Culinary students from Miami-Dade County Public middle schools and high schools created special dishes at The Education Fund’s annual Taste of Education, an evening of food, wine and craft beer dedicated to celebrating volunteers and showing off their skills.

At the event, held at Hialeah Park, participating school teams prepared gourmet bits in different categories – vegetarian, meat, seafood and dessert – and were judged by panels of celebrity chefs.

The Education Fund oversees a number of programs that promote quality public education for Miami-Dade County Public School students, including Food Forests for Schools, creating edible gardens that promote healthy eating and educational programming; Innovator and Adapter Grants for teachers who want to try something new in the classroom; the Art of Found Objects Exhibition and For the Love of Art Charity Auction, providing resources for fine arts education.
