As part of the city’s centennial offerings, the Coral Gables Merrick House brings you an engaging afternoon of city-founder stories. Actor/historian Robert Dawson will share tales of George Merrick as told by his maternal grandfather Henry George Greatrake Fink, a circuit-riding “saddlebag” Methodist preacher who conjured his Fink’s Magic Oil into a fortune. This free event takes place at Coral Gables Congregational Church at 3010 DeSoto Blvd. on Sun., May 4 at 2pm. More info here.
