Order Up! The Pop Art of John Miller debuts at the Lowe Art Museum.

This solo exhibition features 35 pieces of artist Jon Miller’s colorful oversized glass sculptures of food, drinks and condiments, contextualized by 1950s diner fixtures and fittings and inspired by the Pop Art movement of the 1960s. Created between 2014 and 2023, these sculptures reveal the artist’s nostalgia for mid-20th century Americana, including drive-ins, neon signs and the diner near his father’s motorcycle dealership. To kick off the exhibition, look for a pop-up by Sef Gonzalez aka Burger Beast on Dec. 2; the Coral Gables Burger Scavenger Hunt, featuring 12 glass mini-burgers created by Miller and “hidden” at 12 venues throughout Coral Gables. “The only downside of working on this project is that every time I look at the images or write a label, for example, I am immediately hungry and ready for lunch!” says Lowe curator Caitlin Swindell.
