Main Highway by night glows a cooling blue to raise awareness about sustainability.

Look for the cool blue-lit trees in the Grove this summer. They’re shining a light on new sustainability efforts, says Coconut Grove BID acting director Cynthia Seymour, including a plastic-free program with local restaurants. “We all need to find a way to step up personally,” to make sustainable choices, she says.

The Grand Finale of #BlueGrove September is Blues & Jazz – Water Festival. The festivities kick off Sat., Sept. 23 at Fuller Street, starting at 5pm. Look for kids’ entertainment, bubble shows, face painting, an art splash and under-the-sea characters. Local artist Coty Cisneros will bring the canvas to life with live painting. At 7pm, a lineup of jazz and blues performers will be scattered throughout the Grove. And check out the Tree Blue installations, dine at some of the best spots in town and grab your SoluBags.
