Tropic Bound: Miami’s First Art/ist Book Fair
New in town: Tropic Bound, four days of art, craft and literature Feb. 16-19 in the Design District.
We are excited to bring together communities of artists, publishers, writers, collectors and book art aficionados from around the globe to celebrate and exchange ideas on artists’ books!
Celebrate and exchange ideas on artists' books through talks and panels, personal tours through Miami’s literary arts community in Little Haiti, Little River and Coral Gables, behind-the-scenes visits to Miami-based, world-class personal and institutional collections, plus workshops and 60 exhibitors from across the U.S., Mexico, South America, the Caribbean, Europe and Egypt.
Free and open to the community, Tropic Bound kicks off with a talk by book artist Tia Blassingame, founder of Book/Artist/Scholar of Color Collective, and Proprietor of Primrose Press.
A panel discussion, Beyond Florida Man: the surprising depth of Miami’s literary arts landscape, features P. Scott Cunningham, O, Miami founder and executive director; John Cutrone, director of Jaffe Center for Book Arts; Aldeide Delgado, founder and director of Women Photographers International Archive (WOPHA); Amy Galpin, Frost Museum of Art chief curator; Stephanie M. Garcia, head of Special Collections & Archives for Miami Dade-Public Library System and Steve Saiz, founder of Dalé Zine.
