Butterfly gardens, dog parks, exercise equipment, basketball courts, performance areas, picnic tables, temporary and permanent art: it’s all at The Underline, Miami’s 10-mile linear park underneath the Metrorail. Its first phase, Brickell Backyard, has opened phase 1, a welcome addition of green in the midst of Brickell’s concrete and condos.

Founded by Meg Daly, The Underline aims to create a safer, healthier, more connected, mobile, and engaged community by creating open-access public space that will:
â€¢    Physically connect communities through a mobility corridor that integrates public transit, car, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic
â€¢    Improve pedestrian and bicyclist safety
â€¢    Encourage healthy lifestyles by providing access to public exercise facilities
â€¢    Provide a 10-mile canvas for artistic expression
