Virtual Family Food Lab at Vizcaya
Let kids learn about growing their own food virtually at the Virtual Family Food Lab at Vizcaya.
A continuation of their popular onsite family programs at Vizcaya Village before the pandemic, it’s five weeks of lessons and activities all centered around growing your own food – what you can eat, how to harvest and prepare foods you’ve grown, planning your own garden for fall – for kids and adults to do together. The lessons are a mix of pre-recorded videos and live, virtual discussions anchored in Vizcaya’s agricultural histor and applicable to life today in our own kitchens and gardens.
Here's the rundown:
July 12 – Parent’s Preview | Virtual Food Lab for Kids
July 19 – Is this food?
July 26 – What's on Deering's plate?
August 2 – Kitchen Lab!
August 9 – Starting a Home Garden
August 16 – It’s alive! ALIVE!!!!
Lessons are delivered as YouTube videos, both LIVE and pre-recorded, and sent right to your inbox each week. This program is best for children ages 6-12 and is designed for parents and children to learn together.
The classes are free. Register here.
