Everglades Action and Storytelling, Coral Gables
WHAT: Miami Freedom Project is hosting South Florida climate organizations to share their upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and actionable change that you can get involved with to build a better Miami. They’ll discuss the Everglades and Andrew Otazo's newly released "Miami Creation Myth" book. The panel discussion will cover the past and present of the Everglades as it relates to indigenous communities, using storytelling to uplift Miami and historically excluded communities, and climate action and policy at the local, state and national level.

Baynanza, Miami-Dade
WHAT: Miami-Dade County is celebrating 41 years of Baynanza Biscayne Bay Cleanup Day, its signature shoreline cleanup event, to celebrate Earth Month. The event will take place at 31 different locations along Biscayne Bay with Florida International University (FIU) serving as this year’s VIP location. Dignitaries and volunteers at the VIP site will take a moment to reflect on the late Miami-Dade County Clerk of Courts, Harvey Ruvin, whose passion for Biscayne Bay and our environment inspired him to launch Baynanza.

Earth Day Event at Seminole Okalee Indian Museum, Hollywood
WHAT: Live performances from Barry Big Mountain and the Iron Horse Dancers will perform songs and dances of the American Indian, Seminole Native musical performances by Rez Jamz. Native craft and tribal food vendors and non-profit organizations joining the celebration including Museum of Discovery and Science, History Miami Museum, Hendry Glades Audubon, Tree Amigos Growers, Florida Trail Association, and NASA that will be sharing specialized Earth-friendly activities, educational workshops, gardening tips, and tricks from experts.

WHAT: Weekend filled with activities, including: mobile in-park scavenger hunt to save our planet from environmental threats. Visitors who complete the scavenger hunt can redeem a special prize. Earth Day at History of Diving Museum and NASA, Marathon
WHAT: Bring the family to the Environmental Education Village and help with a mangrove tree planting at a nearby hammock. See hands-on demos of the scientific instruments used by the BlueFlux team to measure the greenhouse gas fluxes in the mangroves, along with a guided tour. Also on hand: the National Park Service South Florida Office, Florida International University’s Florida Coastal Everglades Long Term Research Program, CoastLove, Florida Wildlife Society, and others focused on environmental conservation and restoration to share their efforts and ways the public can get involved.
