Cleanups, tree plantings, webinars, scavenger hunts and more activities mark this year's Earth Day and Earth Month. Keep Coral Gables Beautiful Cleanup

WHAT: This Great American Cleanup season program encourages residents to participate in solo cleanups. Participants can earn community service hours and enter the Most Pounds of Litter Collected contest to win prizes.Register online, pick a location, and download the Clean Swell App to track your litter collection.

Earth Day at Frost Science

WHAT: Discover the impact of coastal restoration and register to join a future beach clean-up with our conservation program MUVE (Museum Volunteers for the Environment). Then power up by exploring renewable energies such as solar, wind, and hydro (water) resources, before diving into the plastic pollution problem facing our planet through a microscopic view into sand. Pledge to help reduce, reuse, and recycle as much waste as possible on their large Earth Day 2021 mural.

Shelborne Beach Clean-up

WHAT: Yoga and beach clean up sponsored by Clean Beach Miami Masks are required and attendees should bring their own water bottles (no plastic) and yoga mats.

Zoo Miami Party for the Planet

WHAT: Mobile in-park scavenger hunt takes visitors through three educational missions to save our planet from environmental threats. Visitors who complete 1-2 missions will get a participation prize, and those who complete all three get a chance to spin a prize wheel with special Zoo Miami-themed goodies and be entered into a raffle to win a one-of-a-kind Zoo Miami animal painting. Included with Zoo admission.

Earth Day Cleanup, Plastic Poetry at Bill Baggs

WHAT: Help farm plastic and clean up a beach at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. It's part of Plastic Poetry, which combines a virtual workshop about recycling plastic witha poetry workshop from O, Miami. Plastic pollutoin from this cleanup will be recucled into 5-inch letters to create plastic poems that will be installed on buildings.
