- 4 cups cold water
- 1½ cups dried flor de Jamaica
About this recipe
This recipe, which makes about 4 cups of concentrate, uses dried roselles, available at supermarkets and Mexican markets. Store in the refrigerator.
Instructions
Combine water and dried hibiscus flowers in a pot. Bring to a boil, cover and summer for 5 minutes. Turn off heat, uncover and let steep for 30 minutes. Strain into a glass container and discard the flowers.
Variation: Add 2 whole allspice berries and 1 stick of cinnamon to water. You can also add slices of fresh ginger.
Roselle Tea
Pour 4 cups of concentrate into a pitcher and add 4 cups of water and ¼ to ½ cup sugar, or to taste. Serve over ice. Add a slice of lime if you want.
