- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- Dash salt
- Day-old bread slices, like challah or whole wheat
- Soft (spreadable) cream cheese
- Preserves: Apricot, fig, peach, guava, mango, strawberry are all good
- Unsalted butter
- Optional: Confectioners sugar

Instructions
Whisk together milk, eggs and salt until combined. Pour in a flat plate. For each sandwich, spread one slice of bread with a layer of cream cheese and the other with preserves and close sandwich.
Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat. Dip both sides of sandwich in egg mixture, then saute until golden brown on each side. Slice in half and sprinkle with confectioners sugar before serving.
