It’s Food Waste Prevention Week
Ready to save money? Conserve resources? Improve food security?
Food Waste Prevention Week, April 1-7, 2024, is a week-long online campaign to raise awareness and inspire everyone to reduce food waste at home, work and in our communities.
Up to 35 percent of all food produced goes uneaten. To stop food loss and waste, it takes requires purposeful action.
Reducing food waste matters!
• A family of four can save an average of $1,500 per year.
• Land, water, energy and human resources are used to grow, package and transport food.
• Safe and nutritious food that is currently thrown away could help feed hungry people.
Wasted food is a problem we can all solve by taking actions to reduce food waste in the home, workplace and community.”
