Two Miami Restaurants Debut as Michelin Bib Gourmand Selections
Rosie’s and Jaguar Sun are the latest local additions to the 2023 edition of the MICHELIN Guide Miami as Bib Gourmands, the category highlighting restaurants that offer meals of good quality at a good value.
Rosie’s, the tiny Little River restaurant from husband-and-wife team Akino and Jamila West, serves Southern dishes from Thurs.-Sun. Notes the inspector: “Deviled eggs with chicharrones, biscuits in guanciale gravy and fluffy banana pancakes with vanilla custard are primo brunch favorites. Heartier hits, like fried hot chicken and waffles or a generous fried fish and grits with collard greens, satiate larger appetites.”
Jaguar Sun, located in the lobby of the Alea building in downtown Miami, got accolades for its house-made pastas, creative cocktails and service. “Warm Parker House rolls and Caesar salads stacked to the sky are opening acts to an umami-packed mushroom tagliatelle or spicy strozzapreti with plump mussels, ‘nduja and breadcrumbs. A warm, personal staff makes everyone feel like a regular,” said the inspector.
Elsewhere in Florida, these restaurants were added to the Bib Gourmand selection: Gorkhali Kitchen, Tampa; Isan Zaap, Orlando; Norigami, Winter Garden; Otto’s High Dive, Orlando; Psomi, Tampa; and Taste of Chengdu, Orlando.
The announcement precedes the MICHELIN Guide Ceremony on Thursday, May 11, in Miami.
