Why We Love It: Founded in 1955, the Miami-based RFCI is dedicated to education, introduction and promotion of rare tropical fruits. Speakers cover tropical fruits, beekeeping, organic growing, pruning and propagating. Look for their booth featuring tropical fruits at the seasonal Coral Gables farmers market and Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden’s annual Ramble and Spring Garden Festival. They publish Tropical Fruit News and Rare and Exotic Tropical Fruit Recipes, available for sale online. Memberships start at $45. Meets the second Wednesday of each month at 7:30
